I realize that I neglected to post this to my blog when I got the good news that Righteous Assassin has advanced to the Semi-Finalist stage (Short List) of the Chanticleer Book Review’s CLUE award competition for books in the Mystery/Suspense/Thriller categories. The complete Short List can be found here: https://www.chantireviews.com/2020/02/04/the-semi-finalists-announcement-for-the-clue-book-awards-for-suspense-thriller-fiction-a-division-of-the-2019-cibas/
The category winners (there are six sub-categories — my book is in the police-procedural category) and then the first place overall awards will be announced at a gala awards banquet on April 18. I will not be able to be present in person in Bellingham, Washington for the final awards ceremony. If I were there, I would be called to the stage and recognized as a Semi-Finalist (even if I don’t win any further award). But, that honor and photo opportunity, while great, can’t outweigh a personal conflict I have that weekend (and probably isn’t worth the price of the travel).
But, it’s still a nice honor for Righteous Assassin.
